Lough Key Forest Park, Strokestown Park House, the Shannon Basin, the river Suck Valley and Rathcroghan, Clonalis, the ancestral home of the O'Connors (who produced Ireland's last two High Kings) are all in this
county.
Perhaps the least known of the line of the O'Connor's is the McGeraghty clan whose stronghold, Castlecoote house and original Medieval Towers, still command a view of the river Suck to this day.
The Suck Valley Way is an oval-shaped walking trail that runs along the river
Suck and along a number of lovely lakes. Other attractions in Roscommon are
Rath Cruach�n, Lough Key Forest Park and Tullyboy Animal Farm Visitor
Centre.
