County Louth

Centrally located between Dublin and Belfast, Louth embraces the River Boyne to the east and is known as the Wee County because of its small size.

There are numerous archeological sites here, including Dun Dealgan, meaning the Fort of Dealg. It is a mound rising over 60 feet and is reputed to be the ancient home of Cuchulainn, hero of the Red Branch Knights and quite the lady's man.

Another important prehistoric locations is Bru na Boinne, one of the largest and most important megalithic sites in Europe.
