At 70 kph, Hungary has one of the lowest speed limits in Europe. It also has a zero tolerance for blood alcohol.

It is against the law to use a hand-held phone while driving in Hungary.

Full valid licence is required, which must have been held for at least one year.

International or domestic licences in Roman alphabet are accepted.

Minimum age for drivers is 18. Drivers between 18 and 24 may be subject to a young drivers surcharge.
